Ingersoll Rand’s Milton Roy Europe Employees Hold Cycle Event to Help Make Life Better

On June 3, Ingersoll Rand’s Milton Roy Europe team hosted a cycling event for charity with employees from two locations in France, Avon and Pont-Saint-Pierre. The event raised funds to benefit Vaincre la mucoviscidose, a French charity supporting cystic fibrosis patients.

What began as a discussion about organizing a physical activity event for employees, developed into a truly rewarding gathering. While taking care of their health, the employees provided a positive impact to the community and become closer as a team.

A bit of initiative – a lot of engagement

An employee suggested to use the bicycles from the company gym. Another employee suggested measuring the number of kilometers cycled by the team and donating to the local charity, which has been particularly close at heart of some of our team members.

Nearly 100 employees participated in the event. Each attendee had five minutes to cycle as far as they could – and each kilometer was converted into a 5 EUR donation to the charity. Achieving a remarkable distance of 208.6km, the team raised a total of 1043 EUR!

“The high response and attendance really exceeded our expectations – it has been great to feel the team’s enthusiasm across both our sites,” commented Laurent Le Moine, plant manager Pont-Saint-Pierre. “This turned out to be a great bonding experience for employees while supporting the community and was a good example of how we can help make life better.”

Employee Engagement in Action

The event was organized by the Milton Roy Europe Engagement Team, a cross-functional team of 10 employees. The team facilitates numerous activities, such as a book exchange program, live and virtual exercise sessions with a sports coach, and more.

“Being part of the Engagement team allows creating invaluable connections while going beyond our daily tasks,” said Vanessa Levasseur, Quality and EHS coordinator and member of the organizing team. “Seeing the attendees’ enthusiasm, the team’s name really take on its full meaning of driving teamwork!”
