Whatever your nitrogen requirements, Ingersoll Rand’s packages are designed to meet your exacting needs. Our equipment is engineered for a wide range of industries and built to offer maximum efficiency, reliability, and uptime.
Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) is a technology utilized in air separation to enable the creation of a continuous stream of nitrogen by means of air filtration. Ingersoll Rand nitrogen generators use PSA technology to separate nitrogen molecules from other molecules found in compressed air. This modular concept offers greater flexibility.
PSA (pressure swing adsorption) is a technology used to enable the creation of a continuous stream of nitrogen by means of air filtration. Ingersoll Rand PSA nitrogen generators use Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology to separate nitrogen molecules from other molecules found in compressed air. Oxygen and other trace gases are removed, while nitrogen is allowed to pass through to the application.
The design and control features employed by nitrogen generators help maximize gas output and reduce air consumption to achieve efficiency. Our modular concept offers greater flexibility. The Ingersoll Rand Series can be configured to suit installations for everyday supply of nitrogen and when nitrogen demand increases.
Additional modules can provide extra capacity on standby or serve as backup for peace of mind. The compact design also means the units can fit through standard doorways. Our PSA Nitrogen Generation Packages can be supplied inside a shelter, on skids, or turn-key installed inside ISO and other standard freight containers.
All components will be selected based on the local ambient conditions and the area classification of the installation site. Ingersoll Rand is able to provide nitrogen packages for any customer-specific requirement. We can customize the PSA nitrogen system to your needs.
Membrane Nitrogen Generation Systems consist of fibrous membrane modules arranged in a convenient housing equipped with a control system and integral filtration. High quality compressed air can be separated by means of membranes. Dried and cleaned compressed air (<+5°C pdp) that enters these fiber walls is filtered of water vapor, CO2, and oxygen.
Membrane Nitrogen Generation Systems consist of fibrous membrane modules enclosed in a housing equipped with a control system and integral filtration. Membranes made of hollow polymer fibers can be used to separate high-quality compressed air. Permeation is the process of filtering compressed air (*+5°C pdp) that enters these fiber walls of water vapor, CO2, and oxygen. During this process, residual gas, mainly nitrogen, passes along the fibers and is collected as a by-product.
Membranes remove gases like oxygen and water vapor through the hollow fiber wall and release them into the atmosphere, while retaining nitrogen. The nitrogen flows continuously to the application.
Before entering the membrane, the intake air should be properly cleaned and dried. Otherwise, the shallow fibers will clog quickly. Air treatment through filters and dryers is necessary to prevent clogging.
Our membrane nitrogen generation systems can be supplied inside a shelter, on skids, or turn-key installed inside an ISO and other standard freight containers. All components will be selected based on the local ambient conditions and area classification. We are able to provide membrane nitrogen generation systems for any customer-specific requirement.
Ingersoll Rand provides containerized oxygen packages and skid mounted oxygen generators, depending on the customer’s site requirements.
Our custom-designed nitrogen generation packages are containerized and produce oxygen from compressed air by using PSA technology. This technology separates oxygen from other gases in the air under pressure.
Ingersoll Rand’s skid mounted oxygen generators are built on the skid with one central electric socket, enabling quick start up. The unit consists of an air compressor, a compressed air treatment system, an oxygen generator, air and oxygen tanks, a gas booster and a filling ramp. This compact, plug & play solution does not require extensive installation.
Nitrogen generation systems are machines that remove oxygen and other contaminants to produce nitrogen of a purity required by the user system.
The Ingersoll Rand Nitrogen Air Packages are custom-designed and supplied with PLC based controllers. They are mainly used for blanketing and purging applications in a wide range of industries. Our experience covers installations at desert or arctic ambient conditions, as well as in classified areas.
Ingersoll Rand PSA and membrane systems offer unique benefits and value. Many more factors outside of pressure, flow rate, and purity affect the ultimate choice of a generator. Ease of installation, special customer requirements, location, and application, are only a few of the other considerations. In general, membrane technology is better suited to low purity applications while PSA technology is best suited for higher purity applications. If required, our qualified engineers can assist in the selection of a suitable solution for your application.
