Ingersoll Rand Recognized for Innovative Approach to Diversity and Inclusion

#Diversity and #Inclusion are important values at Ingersoll Rand. They are vital to employee engagement and to our business and success. So, we were incredibly proud when Profiles in Diversity Journal (PDJ) announced us as winners of not one, but two of its 17th annual Innovations in Diversity and Inclusion awards for 2020.

The PDJ honored Ingersoll Rand on its exclusive Top 10 Innovations in Diversity list for our Lean Into Change: Cross-Cultural Conversations program. While many companies might avoid discussion about differences, at Ingersoll Rand, we embrace opportunities to share and celebrate our diversity. Our Cross-Cultural Conversations series created a safe space for employees to discuss experiences and make meaningful connections across cultural boundaries.

Ingersoll Rand also received the PDJ’s Award of Excellence for our program titled “Unity Through Diversity: Ingersoll Rand Purpose and Values Brought to Life.” This program, a part of our company-wide Purpose and Values Activation campaign, was created to support the March 2020 merger of Gardner Denver and the Ingersoll Rand industrial segment.

The program’s goal was to acknowledge each team member’s value and unite 16,000 employees across 70 countries in our company’s purpose: Lean on Us to Help You Make Life Better. From the hourly factory worker in Shanghai to the salaried salesperson in Illinois, every employee shared personal values and experiences, unifying teams and developing an environment where individuality was encouraged and ideas celebrated.

These diversity awards mark a special milestone for our new company. They spotlight our newly combined teams’ hard work and dedication to building an innovative, welcoming and respectful culture for employees at every level of the organization.
