Training for All: Inclusive Onboarding Now Offered in Brazil

When Daniele Yogui, senior legal manager and member of the Latin America and Caribbean Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) council at Ingersoll Rand, had a temporary eye inflammation that forced her to keep her eyes closed for three days, it made her consider what working is like with a disability. As a DE&I agent and leader, she realized that she had the opportunity improve the experience for employees with disabilities.

When she was nominated to lead a project related to personal data privacy in Brazil (GDPR), Daniele asked herself, “Is there anything we can do to improve our onboarding process?”

Our commitment to equity in how people are treated and the opportunities available to them is always at the forefront.

The Brazilian GDPR committee, a cross-functional team formed by IT, HR and Legal, considered the physical barriers some employees may experience with training materials during the onboarding process. With this inclusive mindset, the GDPR committee was proud to launch a new feature that offers sign language and audio description options for visual and audio impaired employees and third parties.
